As Audi works to become an all-electric manufacturer, the E-Tron GT sits at the top of its current lineup of electric vehicles. This sleek electric luxury car was introduced in 2022 and is built on a battery platform shared with the Porsche Taycan. The E-Tron GT is quite sporty in its standard version, but the available RS variant adds power and performance. The 2024 Audi E-Tron GT rivals the Mercedes-Benz EQE-Class, BMW i5, and Lucid Air.

Opinion

The Audi E-Tron GT's futuristic and sporty design is combined with a modern driving feel. The car is an eye-catcher, which is a change from Audi's usually restrained design. The full-width taillights look amazing, but the fake front grille may look outdated in the future.

Inside the E-Tron GT, the interior is made of high-quality materials. However, rear seat space is limited due to the car's sleek shape. While the digital interfaces aren't as large as some rivals, Audi's interface is easy to use. This year, Audi is introducing a subscription model for basic infotainment features, which is disappointing.

Driving the E-Tron GT is exhilarating, to the point that the more powerful RS variant is largely unnecessary; the base model is more than adequate. Its power, responsiveness, and agility are impressive, though the E-Tron GT does tend to understeer if pushed too hard.

The Porsche Taycan, the E-Tron GT's "brother," is even better balanced, faster, and even more beautiful, while retaining virtually the same battery capabilities. We might recommend the Taycan, but the Audi E-Tron GT is also an excellent choice.

Safety features

Standard driver assistance and active safety features are limited on the E-Tron GT. Included are front and rear parking sensors, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, intersection collision mitigation, and side traffic alert. Desirable features like adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist are available on the Prestige and RS trim levels or as an optional package on the Premium Plus.

Luggage space and interior

Despite its attractive appearance, the E-Tron GT's sloping roofline has a negative impact on rear seat and luggage space – it's quite cramped there.

Technologies and equipment levels

Technologies

All E-Tron GT models feature a 12.3-inch digital display and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, as is a Bang & Olufsen audio system. Prestige and RS trim levels include a head-up display and a 360-degree camera. All trim levels also feature wireless charging and USB ports.

For 2024, Audi is making built-in features like navigation, media streaming, productivity, weather forecast, and parking and charging finder available only through a paid subscription after a six-month trial period.

Equipment levels

The 2024 E-Tron GT is available in Premium Plus, Prestige and RS trim levels. The Premium Plus model, priced at around $108,000, features heated front seats, a Bang & Olufsen audio system and a panoramic glass roof. For around $116,000, the E-Tron GT Prestige adds adaptive cruise control, a head-up display, heated steering wheel and rear seats and a microfiber headliner. In addition to the power and performance, the around $149,000 E-Tron GT RS includes exterior carbon fiber elements, a carbon fiber roof (without a glass roof) and extended leather upholstery in the interior.

Performance, range and charging

Each E-Tron GT uses a 93 kWh battery pack that powers a dual motor that drives all four wheels. The rear motor is mated to a two-speed automatic transmission. In the standard version, the E-Tron GT has 522 hp and 472 lb-ft of torque, while the RS model has 637 hp and 612 lb-ft.

The 2023 E-Tron GT is EPA-rated to have a range of 238 miles, while the RS model has a range of 232 miles. The maximum charging speed is up to 270 kW, which is quite fast. Audi claims that this is enough to add 120 miles of range in 10 minutes under ideal conditions.
