Mileage, charging and performance

All iX models feature a 105 kWh battery and dual-motor AWD. The model can be charged at up to 195 kW at a DC fast charger, adding 90 miles of range in 10 minutes under ideal conditions.

iX xDrive50: 516 hp and 564 lb-ft of torque; 0-60 mph in 4.0 seconds; over 300 miles of range depending on wheel size.
iX M60: 610 hp and 749 lb-ft of torque; 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds; range just over 280 miles with 21- or 22-inch wheels.

Technologies

The iX is equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting BMW iDrive 8. Wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is available, as well as options such as Harman Kardon and Bowers & Wilkins audio systems, a head-up display and a 360-degree camera.

Opinion

The BMW iX's design began with the interior, and it shows. The cabin is stylish and modern with an emphasis on luxurious materials and digital features. The BMW iDrive system controls work well, but a few more physical buttons would have made interaction easier.

While the exterior may be controversial due to its large grille, the iX's driving experience makes up for it. With superb suspension tuning and a comfortable interior, the iX combines luxury and sportiness, like most of BMW's top models.
