2024 Honda Prologue

Following the success of its hybrid models, Honda is finally introducing a fully electric SUV, the Prologue, which will be available in 2024. This model was developed in partnership with General Motors and uses GM's Ultium platform and batteries. Main competitors are the Tesla Model Y and Hyundai Ioniq 5.

Mileage, performance and charging

The 2024 Prologue comes with an 85-kWh battery pack that provides up to 296 miles of range in front-wheel drive models. AWD models have a range of 281 miles, while the top-of-the-line Elite AWD reaches 273 miles. The Prologue supports DC fast charging up to 150 kW and can restore 65 miles of range in about 10 minutes.

Technologies

The Prologue offers a standard 11-inch digital driver display and an 11.3-inch infotainment screen. The system supports Google, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Mid- and top-of-the-line versions also include 12 Bose speakers, a head-up display and ventilated front seats.

Opinion

The Prologue is designed to visually stand out from GM's lineup, with a stylish and elegant look. While the SUV is spacious, tall rear passengers may feel cramped. Honda has achieved a balanced handling without the harshness found in the Chevrolet Blazer EV. The Prologue delivers a smooth and quiet ride in the city and on the highway.

While charging speeds and infotainment could be better, the SUV offers competitive mileage and decent functionality. With these features, the Prologue has the potential to become a successful model for Honda.
